The Blog Process | An Introduction

Want to know a secret? 99% of the time, I have no idea what I'm doing. As a photographer you wear so many hats, you usually feeling like you're winging it.

But after years of "trial and error" and "practice makes perfect" and "oh my goodness, that's brilliant, why didn't I think of that?!," you start to hold on to a few things that are working and put them in the "I got this" column of your business.

For me, one of the items in that column is blogging. Like, I really enjoy blogging. It's how I connect with the world, and I have never doubted that it has been crucial in helping me book wonderful clients and build strong relationships with them. But... it's a lot of work. It takes planning, brainstorming, creativity, and time.

You know what though? It's worth it. SO worth it.

I'm not an expert on this by ANY means, but I found myself passionately sharing my process with photography friends. It's an integral part of my brand and I love talking about it, writing about it, and sharing the ways it's changed my business for the better. So for the next few weeks, I'd like to dive head first into it. Every step - the editorial calendars, the shoot planning, the image selections, and all the way up to the marketing.

I repeat, I am no expert. What I am is passionate, consistent, and eager to share. If this helps you, that's wonderfully awesome, and I'm so glad I could be a part of that. But I'm also eager to learn, and I want you to share the ways YOU have found to keep your blogging intentional and perfect for your clientele.
