Full disclosure... I was super nervous to shoot Leah & Jerome's wedding. I didn't get a chance to meet Jerome or do the get to know you engagement session that i usually do, because of distance (they both live out of state). Fortunately, I was already pretty smitten with Leah after like TWO conversations (and her dad, who seemed all tough, but turned out to be a total softie :P). When I walked into that room with all the beautiful bridesmaids and Leah just radiating like a goddess of perfection... I may have gotten slightly less nervous. And then everything went crazy good, and I met the husband to be, and he was SO FAB and rocked that velvet jacket like no one else even could.
But it wasn't until the ceremony was over, all the family photos were done, and the reception was well under way.... and I saw for myself how connected they were. I mean, yes, there were plenty of sweet happy moments before that, but you haven't seen them dance together. They danced this PERFECT first dance, so joyful and sweet, and I'm like 95% sure they forgot everyone else was in the room.
We ended that wedding day with a sunset session outside, and I asked them to dance together again. It was beautiful and happy and free, and I was genuinely HONORED to have been able to capture this stunning, happy couple.
Leah & Jerome, thanks for letting me be there. You two have a special kind of bond and a beautiful family and I'm so happy to have met you. Wishing you all the best in your marriage!!
