We met Jonathan three years ago, when he was a groomsman in another wedding party. He was the guy who stood out from the crowd - making hilarious faces at the camera, showing off his moves square in the middle of the dance floor, making sure Brian and I were well fed and well hydrated. He was pretty unforgettable and one of the many friendships that began that day.
Years later, he'd found his own love, the perfect complement to his antics. He could make her laugh, she made hilarious faces back at him. They could pick on each other endlessly, always ending with a big smile and a squeeze. Lena was a lovely match, and when they came to me to photograph their big day, amidst the craziness of making sure everything was in the parameters needed to move her here from Germany, I immediately said yes. I'd almost forgotten how much fun Jonathan was, but it took two seconds to remember, and I immediately loved Lena the moment she walked in.
Their wedding was a great reflection of these two happy hearts. From the way Lena walked quickly down the aisle just to stand next to Jonathan, the way they held hands the entire time, or the way Jonathan kept glancing at her during the wedding talk. Even when, before the recessional could begin, Jonathan pulled out a selfie stick and took a selfie right from the front of the aisle, featuring every, single, WONDERFUL guest. It was an emotional and amazing day, and I wouldn't have expected anything else.
Jonathan and Lena... well you already know how much I adore you two. This is a friendship that will not end anytime ever, and I am beyond honored to have had the chance to be a part of your beautiful love story. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for making me feel like family literally all the time.
But first, let us take a selfie.
It was about here when i didn't stop crying for like 20 minutes. By far one of the most emotional weddings I've ever photographed! So much heart!!
