Last year, Madison and Harsh met with us, and proceeded to tell us all about their two ceremonies, the combining of both of their cultures and families. They planned to have a condensed traditional Indian ceremony in Raleigh, then another western ceremony at The Empire Room a couple weeks later. To which Brian and I both nodded enthusiastically and said, we can TOTALLY do that! And despite an unexpected loss in the family and a last minute wedding date change, it has been quite the fantastic journey!
These two beautiful people welcomed us right into their families and it was fascinating to get an inside look into Harsh's culture and customs. Their first ceremony took place at the Hindu Society of North Carolina in Raleigh, NC. Below are images from this culture-rich event, along with our combined highlight film of their two weddings. First, the highlights!
Okay, I admit it... I spent the first part of the ceremony thinking, "What is going on? Are they speaking English? Nope. Should I get closer, will I interrupt the event? Oh goodness, what am I doing?!" Thankfully Harsh alleviated my panic with some subtle instructions and by the end, I was like, "Sure, I don't really know what's going on, but I got this!"
Madison really looked stunning in her Indian bridal wear. That red and gold was stunning.
