Last week? That was one of those, "Is this real life" kind of weeks. SO much happened, and I'm pretty sure I'm still processing. Now, in case you missed the news...
I got to see DIVERGENT!! I know, I still can't believe it either. I was invited by two friends to see an advanced screening of the movie in Atlanta and it. Was. Awesome! And I know that admitting the fantasticness of the situation officially reverts me into a 16 year old girl... but I'm completely okay with that. Why? Because the beautiful Theo James and Shailene Woodley were in attendance. I mean they walked within feet of me. You can pretend it's no big deal, but who are we kidding - it's TOTALLY a big deal!
Of course, my friends and I are certainly not the type to attend a Red Carpet premiere without going all out. We spent several hours not only looking perfect, but being completely inspired by the book itself. For anyone who has ever read the Divergent trilogy, I'm certain you identified with at least one faction, just like we did. So we put a nice red carpet twist on our faction outfits.
Aliana dressed up as Dauntless:
Azelyn's outfit was Candor-inspired, while mine was Dauntless inspired as well.
Kaylee looked adorable in her red and yellow Amity-inspired outfit, and Aliana put a nice finishing touch with a Dauntless faction tattoo on her neck.
It was pretty exciting to meet Amber of Grownup Fangirl, who of course had press passes and had the chance to actually speak to Theo and Shai (yeah, I'm on a first name basis with them, we breathed the same AIR you guys!) Anyway, you should check out Amber's blog - she knows what's up!
I spy Tris' tattoo...!
One of the highlights of the day? Being photographed ON the red carpet due to our outfit fabulosity!
Which, of course, paled in comparison to seeing Theo James and Shailene Woodley walk the red carpet RIGHT IN FRONT OF US. Just so you have an idea of just how close we were to the red carpet...
And here is, ladies and gentleman, our review of the Divergent movie (and how pretty Theo and Shai are... swoon).
So yes, last week falls in the category of "Is this real life?!" I still find it hard to believe the entire weekend actually happened, and I am SO excited for Divergent to come to theaters! Have you read these books yet? Will you be seeing the movie as well? Tell me your thoughts (and faction!) in the comments below.
Be brave and have a happy Tuesday!
