I love it when you meet a person and your first thought is, "You're my kind of people." Which is precisely what I thought when I met Jordan for the first time at a wedding we were both working. Several photographer get-togethers later, a few second shooting gigs together, and a couple of drawn out discussions on photo business, and it was clear that we were going to be friends for a while.
But then he asked me to photograph him and his wife for their first anniversary, and I felt a pile of pressure immediately collapse on my shoulders as I suddenly wondered if my "skill" would stand up to another photographer's eye. I was terrified! And even after the session went awesomely and we had a fantastic time, I was then terrified to get the edits PERFECTLY.
Despite all of that though, I am soooo excited about this session. It's the perfect lifestyle session, the perfect story of life in the moment of this unbelievably happy couple. They are celebrating one year, and while their walls are filled with images of their love, their wedding, and their togetherness, this session is a glimpse into their everyday kind of love.
Jordan and Heather, thank you for letting me into your home for this. Watching the two of you together is the sweetest, happiest thing, and I know you'll keep that love going strong for a long time.
Anytime a session is interrupted in order for my clients to change INTO THEIR PAJAMAS, I feel like I can be okay with that.
