Words + Coffee: Round Things and Murder Suspects

I am a self proclaimed bookaholic. It's not really a secret or anything. I've got the whole reading until 3am thing down, and I've maxed out my "tune-people-out" skill levels, which takes lots of practice and serious concentration.

I also have realized that I have two reading speeds: seventeen books at once or none. None at all. Which is, coincidentally, also how I talk - like blah blah word vomit, or silent wallflower.

Anyway... the past few weeks my reading has been set to full speed! Which is seriously helping to build my library of beautiful books. And yes, I'm a collector of hardcover books for precisely this reason because while I do read on my iPad, it just doesn't smell the same...

The Earth, My Butt, and Other Big Round Things

This one I actually bought for the sole reason of the fact that I liked the name. No joke. It was only $1 anyway, but it had no cover or summary - I was merely hooked by the title. For synopsis and overall rating, you can totally check out my profile on Goodreads, but I will tell you what I rated it - 3 out of 5. Essentially, it was good, I pretty much read it straight through, but I probably wouldn't force anyone else to read it, or read it again personally.

The Secret Life of Bees

I hear this book has a movie, but I haven't seen it, and to be honest, I read this book mostly so I could tell my husband that I was reading an adult book (because he says I read too much young adult - pfft, whatever! :P) I gave it a 3 out of 5. Because it wasn't young adult mostly, and also because it took me a looong time to get through this book. I don't know why, just didn't love it.

Confessions of a Murder Suspect

James Patterson, why can't I quit you? I love many of his adult books, loved the first few books of his Maximum Ride series, but I've recently pulled away when I started noticing that most of his books say "by James Patterson and Insert Name Here". I mean, write your own books man! Okay, that's probably a bit harsh, and admittedly it didn't stop me from reading this particular book. And let me tell you - SO GOOD! I couldn't put it down, and I'm dying to read the next in the series to see what happens. Definitely 4 out of 5.

I'm still on a reading spree, and already have quite a few books I'll probably feature in my next Words + Coffee, but that doesn't mean I don't need new recommendations (aka feed my addiction please!) Ergo, please feel free to leave some recs in the comment section below!

Have a happy Friday!
